How to build a football dream team
Decide what kind of dream team it is
An all-time XI, the best current players, a transfer wishlist for your club or a squad built on a budget are four very different exercises. Setting the rule first — for example "current players only" or "one player per club" — makes the squad more interesting to argue about and easier to share.
Mix clubs without breaking the shape
The squad builder lets you search every supported club and drop players into one team. The trap is picking the eleven biggest names and ending up with five forwards. Keep the formation fixed while you build, and fill each position with someone who actually plays there.
Use market value as a reality check
